Land minister vows to bridge gap between regional firms and national R&D programs

"We will ensure that the potential of outstanding regional companies and researchers is not held back by a lack of access to information," Kim said.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Yun-deok made the remarks Friday at Jeonbuk National University, where she held a North Jeolla Province-Saemangeum land and transport R&D briefing to engage with regional companies and researchers.

The briefing was a follow-up to a North Jeolla Province-Saemangeum business roundtable Kim convened on July 22 to promote investment in the Saemangeum area, at which local firms raised concentrated questions about how to participate in national R&D and pilot projects. Kim said she would serve as a reliable bridge connecting regional companies with the ministry's land and transport R&D programs.

At the briefing, the Saemangeum Development Agency presented an overview of current investment in the zone and the direction of its cooperative partnership initiatives, followed by an introduction to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's R&D investment strategy.
