Son in his 20s arrested after stabbing mother in Incheon

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing his mother with a knife.

The Incheon Ganghwa Police Station arrested the suspect, identified only as A, on charges of attempted matricide, according to Yonhap.

A is accused of stabbing his mother, a woman in her 60s identified only as B, multiple times with a knife at a residence in Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, at around 10 p.m. Friday in an attempt to kill her.

B sustained injuries to her face and neck but was discharged from the hospital after treatment, as the wounds were not deep.

Police said they are investigating the circumstances and motive behind the attack and plan to seek an arrest warrant.
