Event runs Friday and Saturday at Ulsan Horticultural Cooperative's Hanaro Mart, featuring pear cuisine and a direct-trade market
The 25th Ulsan Pear Festival will be held Friday and Saturday at the Ulsan Horticultural Cooperative's Hanaro Mart in Ulsan.
Organized by the Ulsan Horticultural Cooperative, the festival aims to showcase the quality of Ulsan pears — one of the region's signature agricultural products — and bring together producers and consumers to share in the harvest season. The event will feature a pear quality-evaluation exhibition hall, a global fusion pear cuisine showcase, hands-on experience booths and a direct-trade agricultural market.
The direct-trade market will offer not only pears but also other fruits such as sweet persimmons and apples, along with produce grown by young startup farmers from the region.
An opening ceremony and celebratory performance will be held at 5 p.m. Friday on the outdoor stage at the Hanaro Mart.
Ulsan pears have earned recognition at home and abroad for their quality, including continued exports to the United States.
