Seoul's Dongjak-gu will host the 13th Infant Forest Family Festival at the Seodal Mountain Infant Forest Experience Center (San 49-36, Sangdo-dong) on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the district announced Thursday. The infant forest experience center is an eco-friendly play space where children can run freely in the forest and connect with nature through all five senses.

This year's theme is "Gather in the Fun Forest," with the event designed to help families create happy memories through shared outdoor experiences. Experience programs led by certified infant forest instructors will run across three categories: family-friendly activities, garden prescription, and climate change and eco-friendly education. At noon, "Saengdong Band" — a group of infant forest instructors and musicians — will perform forest songs and yodeling.

The festival is open to families with children aged 6 and under (born in 2020 or later). Walk-in registration on the day of the event will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 50 participants, with a maximum of four people per group. Admission is free.

A Dongjak-gu official advised attendees to wear comfortable clothing such as long pants and sneakers, as various outdoor activities will be held in the forest. Bringing a personal mat, water and a hat will also make for a more comfortable experience, the official added.

The venue has no parking, and the district asked visitors to use public transportation. Those with additional questions may contact the Dongjak-gu Parks and Green Space Division.

Dongjak-gu District Mayor Ryu Sam-young said the district would consistently create opportunities for children to grow up healthy in nature and for families to enjoy leisure time together.
