Hosandae University in Gyeongsan announced Monday that it recently held the "2026 Academic Year Anchor Project Second Industry-Academia-Research Consultative Forum" at its main building conference room to strengthen cooperation with local medical institutions and industrial support organizations.
The forum brought together representatives from seven organizations — including local businesses, medical institutions and innovation agencies — along with university project team members and faculty from related departments. Participants shared workforce demand and required competencies from the industrial field and discussed ways to reflect those needs in education and talent development.
The university's anchor project team presented key outcomes from its first year and shared progress and plans for the second year, while exploring ways to expand industry-academia-government cooperation in areas such as field training, employment linkage and technology support.
Particularly prominent on the agenda were the application of AI in industrial settings, improvements to curricula reflecting industry demand, and expanding students' hands-on experience.
Participants agreed on the need to strengthen ties between university education and the industrial field by drawing on each organization's expertise and resources, and to build a foundation for sustained cooperation.
Jeon Sang-hun, vice president of Hosandae University, said continuous communication with local institutions is essential to reflecting changes and demands from the industrial field in university education. "We will nurture talent equipped with the competencies the field requires and reinforce a cooperative foundation through which the university and the region can grow together," he said.
