Second Volkswagen 4S network in South Korea
New and used car sales, service and parts supply under one roof
About 4,000 square meters in Pangyo; 88-item quality inspection
Six showrooms and seven service centers nationwide
Autoplotz, an authorized Volkswagen dealer, is resuming certified used-car sales at its Pangyo location in Gyeonggi Province. By adding used-car sales to an existing new-car showroom and service center, the company has built a one-stop setup where customers can buy a vehicle and have it serviced at the same location.
Autoplotz said Friday it launched full operations at its certified used-car showroom in Pangyo, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, establishing the second Volkswagen "4S" network in South Korea.
The 4S model refers to a single hub offering new-car sales, after-sales service, parts supply and certified used-car sales.
Previously, customers often had to visit separate showrooms depending on whether they were looking at a new or used vehicle. At the Pangyo hub, buyers can compare new and certified used cars side by side and return to the same location for inspections and maintenance after purchase.
The certified used-car showroom is located at 283 Daewangpangyo-ro, Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. Autoplotz added the used-car sales function to its existing Pangyo showroom and service center, which covers about 4,000 square meters.
The company has also placed a strong emphasis on quality control for vehicles on sale.
Each certified used car undergoes an 88-item condition inspection at the Volkswagen Pangyo service center before going on sale. Autoplotz said it will source vehicles whose condition has been verified and provide after-sales support through trained technicians.
Unlike ordinary used cars, certified pre-owned vehicles are inspected against set standards by the automaker or an authorized dealer before sale. The aim is to reduce uncertainty for buyers who would otherwise find it difficult to assess a vehicle's condition on their own.
This is not Autoplotz's first foray into certified used-car sales. The company operated an official Volkswagen certified used-car showroom in Sangbong, Seoul, in 2019, where vehicles meeting certain criteria for model year and mileage were also put through the same 88-item quality inspection.
This time, the company plans to improve operational efficiency by combining the certified used-car business with its existing Pangyo sales and service facilities.
Autoplotz aims to broaden its business base by capturing not only new-car buyers but also existing Volkswagen customers looking to trade in their vehicles or purchase used ones.
"By launching full operations at the Pangyo certified used-car showroom, we are now able to offer everything from new and certified used-car sales to maintenance all in one place," said Park Yong-pil, chief executive of Autoplotz. "We will become a dealer our customers can trust, through vehicle inspections conducted to Volkswagen's quality standards and attentive after-sales care."
Meanwhile, Autoplotz currently operates six new-car showrooms nationwide — in Songpa, Anyang, Pangyo, Wonju, Daejeon and Cheonan — along with seven service centers in Anyang, Pangyo, Hanam, Wonju, Daejeon, Cheonan and Cheongju. The Pangyo location is its only certified used-car showroom.
