Suseong University radiology students, alumni win awards at North Gyeongsang radiologic technologist conference

Suseong University announced Monday that students and an alumnus from its Department of Radiology won awards at the 6th Academic Conference of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Chapter of the Korean Society of Radiologic Technologists 2026, held recently.

In the student paper presentation category, Lee Ye-jun won the best paper award for a study comparing AI-based automatic measurements with manual measurements of key indicators in cardiac ultrasound.

Kim Seong-eun earned the excellence award for a presentation analyzing the correlation between liver ultrasound imaging findings and liver elasticity, further demonstrating the department's research capabilities.

Professor Cheon Hye-ri served as session chair at the conference, guiding the presentation sessions and supporting students' academic activities.

The honors extended beyond current students. Choi Ik-chang, a Suseong University radiology alumnus and section chief at the Korea Radioactive Waste Agency, won the excellence award in the member presentation category for a paper on standardization measures for applying transport index sums when transporting radioactive materials.

"We will actively expand opportunities for students to participate in academic conferences and present their research," Professor Cheon said. "Through practice-oriented education aligned with the latest trends in medical imaging and radiation, we will develop radiologic professionals equipped with both expertise and competitiveness."
