Broadband: 12 consecutive years at No. 1; IPTV: 8 consecutive years
'Pursuing AI- and DT-driven innovation across all customer experience areas'
SK Broadband announced Wednesday that it ranked No. 1 in both the high-speed internet and IPTV categories of the 2026 Korean Standard-Service Quality Index (KS-SQI), administered by the Korean Standards Association — marking 12 consecutive years atop the broadband category and eight consecutive years in IPTV.
The KS-SQI measures and quantifies service quality across industries by analyzing factors including expertise, sincerity, courtesy and ease of use. SK Broadband claimed sole first place in both categories.
"We are pursuing AI- and digital transformation-driven innovation across all areas of the customer experience — including service quality, digital experience and AI services — to build deeper trust with our customers and deliver services that have evolved to the next level," the company said.
SK Broadband launched its all-in-one subscription product "B tv+ max" on Tuesday to strengthen its product lineup. The service offers 255 live channels as well as all content from the three major terrestrial broadcasters — KBS, MBC and SBS — along with programming from four general-programming channels, cable networks, and film, children's, animation and documentary content. In total, it provides more than 300,000 domestic and international titles, the highest volume in the IPTV industry.
The company is also accelerating network quality upgrades. In response to a surge in demand for high-bandwidth content such as AI applications, 4K streaming and high-end gaming, SK Broadband recently launched a "Giga Wi-Fi 7" router. The device delivers wireless speeds of up to 2.88 Gbps — twice as fast as the previous Wi-Fi 6 standard — and incorporates multi-link technology to provide a seamless wireless environment even when multiple devices are connected simultaneously.
SK Broadband introduced a Customer Experience Index (CEI) system last year to manage service quality in an integrated manner. The system continuously monitors equipment and terminal performance at every stage — from broadcast facility equipment and network infrastructure to the remote controls and Wi-Fi devices customers use directly. When performance degradation is detected, the company immediately identifies the affected segment and takes preemptive corrective action before customers need to contact customer service.
In addition, the company's AI media agent "B tv A." understands the context of customer queries and recommends related content to enhance viewing satisfaction. As of December last year, cumulative usage of "B tv A." had surpassed 100 million sessions — representing a twofold increase in monthly active users and a more than sixfold increase in conversation volume compared with early last year.
SK Broadband is also expanding customer convenience by applying AI technology to its support services. An AI chatbot capable of handling inquiries around the clock — from sign-up to after-sales service — has been upgraded through UI/UX improvements and customization to enhance usability. The company has expanded key consultation scenarios covering billing, installation, relocation and repairs, enabling approximately 93 percent of all customer inquiries to be resolved through self-service.
Choi Young-a, head of SK Broadband's Customer Value Innovation division, said the recognition reflects "the result of company-wide efforts, with all members taking the lead and collaborating to strengthen customer trust and drive AI transformation across every area of the customer experience." She added that the company would "continue working to deliver differentiated services through AI-based quality improvements and process enhancements."
