Renault Korea launches summer vehicle checkup program, new Filante sunshade

Renault Korea is offering free vehicle inspections and maintenance benefits ahead of the summer holiday season. The company has also unveiled a new electric sunshade designed exclusively for its Filante mid-large crossover to improve interior comfort in the heat.

The automaker announced Wednesday that it will run the "Renault Care Summer Promotion" through Aug. 31. Customers who visit an official Renault Korea service center during the period can receive a free 12-point inspection covering summer driving essentials, with the exception of some service locations.

The inspection covers key fluids — including power steering oil, engine oil, brake fluid, washer fluid, coolant and automatic transmission fluid — as well as lamp conditions, wiper operation, front and rear brake pads, tire wear, the battery and terminals, and belt condition.

Maintenance customers can also take advantage of additional benefits. Those who replace all four tires at once will receive a service coupon worth 100,000 won ($64), issued as two 50,000-won vouchers through the "My Renault" app after the promotion ends. Customers replacing transmission oil will receive a 10 percent discount on parts, with labor charged separately.

Renault Korea also introduced the new electric sunshade for the Filante, available for the Iconic and Esprit Alpine trims. Both new buyers and existing Filante owners can have it installed. Installation on new vehicles became available July 1, while aftermarket sales are set to begin in mid-July.

The accessory mounts onto the panoramic glass roof and is designed to block sunlight while preserving generous headroom. It features an anti-pinch function and a curtain tension restoration function, and operates at a noise level of 52 decibels or below.

The product also meets safety standards. It complies with European ECE regulations covering fall prevention during driving, interior impact protection and fire safety.

The sunshade is priced at 790,000 won, with a launch promotion bringing it down to 690,000 won. The panoramic glass roof on the Filante Iconic and Esprit Alpine trims features a double silver coating and solar film, with a surface area of 1.1 square meters.

"With more long-distance driving during summer, it is important to check vehicle condition in advance through a pre-inspection," a Renault Korea official said.
