A customer was injured Thursday after an elderly driver's SUV plowed into a convenience store in Gangwon Province.
The incident occurred at around 3:10 p.m. Thursday when a Tucson SUV driven by a man in his 80s, identified only as A, crashed into a convenience store in Seongsan-myeon, Gangneung.
A customer in his 40s was taken to a hospital after suffering a shin injury from debris. Authorities confirmed A had not been drinking and was licensed to drive.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the accident, including the possibility that A mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.
