Dongguk University WISE Campus signs TOPIK support MOUs with two high schools

Dongguk University WISE Campus signed memorandums of understanding with Gyeongju Women's Information High School and Korea Maritime Meister High School on Monday to support group registration for the Test of Proficiency in Korean, or TOPIK. The signing ceremony was held at the centennial memorial hall on campus.

The ceremony was attended by Lee Yu-gyeong, head of the international exchange office at Dongguk University WISE Campus, and Bae Byeong-guk, head of the international exchange team, along with Gyeongju Women's Information High School principal Jo Mi-yeong and Korea Maritime Meister High School principal Kim Seong-man, among other officials.

Under the agreements, the three institutions will cooperate on group TOPIK registration support, mutual collaboration on exam registration and administration, and management and administrative assistance for test takers.

"It is an important responsibility of educational institutions to help nurture foreign students and support their settlement in the region, and universities and high schools must work together toward that goal," Lee said. "I hope this agreement goes beyond simple exam support and becomes the first step for students to grow into local talent."

Jo, the Gyeongju Women's Information High School principal, expressed gratitude to Dongguk University WISE Campus for stepping up to assist with group registration. "We deeply appreciate that the university understood the administrative difficulties high schools face in handling exam registration for foreign students and readily offered its support," she said.

Kim, the Korea Maritime Meister High School principal, said the agreement would help strengthen educational programs for international students. "In line with North Gyeongsang Province's education policy, many high schools are now recruiting and educating foreign students," Kim said. "We will work together to ensure that educational activities for international students are carried out with greater substance."
