The Sinpyeong-myeon Saemaul Council in Uiseong-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, organized a samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) sharing event ahead of Chobok, the first of the three hottest days of the traditional lunar calendar, on Wednesday.
Male and female saemaul leaders prepared the soup by hand and delivered it to senior centers across the township's villages.
Sinpyeong-myeon chief Lee Jae-chun urged the council to keep up the effort. "I hope the Saemaul Council will continue to be a warm organization that puts sharing into practice and brings smiles to residents," he said.
