Gyeongil University's ReON volunteers hold major field camp in North Gyeongsang

Gyeongil University's ReON volunteer corps ran the "2026 ReON Major-Based Volunteer Capacity-Building Camp" across Yeongdeok-gun and Uljin-gun from Thursday to Friday.

A total of 146 people took part, including ReON project director Lee Hee-jun, student volunteers and faculty advisers.

On the first day, participants carried out coastal cleanup activities at Goraebul Beach in Yeongdeok and Hujeong Beach in Uljin, contributing to environmental conservation in both areas.

The group then ran department-based experiential booths at Deokgu Hot Springs in Uljin.

Volunteers from a range of majors — including nursing, emergency medical services, beauty and styling, and architecture — presented programs tailored to their fields and used the booth sessions to share feedback on each program's strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement.

"It was impressive to see the students who took part in the plogging activity working together cheerfully as they carried on with their volunteer work," Lee said. "I hope that through the students' major-based volunteer activities, Gyeongil University's positive influence will spread beyond the local community and reach even further."
