Korea Employment Information Service supports Rwanda's job service capacity with on-site training

The Korea Employment Information Service has launched an on-site training program in Rwanda to strengthen the professional capabilities of local employment service workers, as part of broader efforts to help the African nation build a sustainable job service system.

According to the Korea Employment Information Service, the training is part of a project led by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to establish an integrated employment information system in Rwanda. The five-day program runs Monday through Friday in Rwanda.

About 80 participants are taking part, including officials from Rwanda's Ministry of Public Service and Labour (MIFOTRA), as well as representatives from national employment service centers, universities and job support organizations across the country.

The curriculum is tailored to Rwanda's labor market conditions and employment service environment, with a focus on career guidance, learning pathway design, and building practical skills in job-seeker counseling and employment support services.

The Korea Employment Information Service said it expects the training to strengthen the hands-on capabilities of Rwanda's employment service workers and contribute to establishing a lasting job service framework in the country.

Following the training, a consortium of implementing organizations that includes the Korea Employment Information Service plans to hold the second project steering committee meeting on Aug. 5, to review progress and discuss the direction of future operations.
