Ulsan agencies unite to stamp out illegal adult PC bangs

Government agencies and administrative bodies have joined forces to eradicate illegal adult PC bangs that have spread into residential neighborhoods.

Ulsan city, the Ulsan Metropolitan Police Agency, the city's five district and county offices, and the Game Rating and Administration Committee signed an MOU on Wednesday at the situation room on the seventh floor of Ulsan City Hall. The agencies pledged to pool their information and expertise to cooperate on everything from crackdowns and investigations to administrative action against illegal operators.

The agreement came as illegal adult PC bangs have proliferated across urban centers, residential areas and school commute routes, fueling gambling-related harm and secondary crimes that have emerged as a broader social problem — prompting the agencies to build a coordinated joint-response framework.

The MOU covers five areas: sharing information on illegal and speculative business operations; conducting joint inspections and coordinating enforcement; taking swift administrative action against violators; providing expert analysis and assessment of illegal game content; and jointly identifying areas for regulatory reform.

The Ulsan Metropolitan Police Agency will promptly supply district and county offices with evidence of violations and materials needed for administrative penalties uncovered during crackdowns and investigations, while Ulsan city will coordinate among the agencies to ensure smooth cooperation.

The five district and county offices will carry out guidance, inspections and administrative measures under relevant laws based on information received and their own findings, while the Game Rating and Administration Committee will support the effort by verifying illegal game content and providing expert analysis and specialized information.
