Kolmar Korea is participating in Seoul Beauty Week for the fifth consecutive year as an official partner, showcasing K-beauty technologies including skincare and sun care.
The company announced Monday that it is taking part in the 2026 Seoul Beauty Week, held from Sunday through Tuesday at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Now in its fifth edition, Seoul Beauty Week helps beauty companies enter domestic and overseas markets while highlighting the latest K-beauty trends. The number of participating companies has nearly tripled from 52 in its inaugural year in 2022 to 147 this year, while the number of buyer countries has expanded from 18 to 48 over the same period. Last year, the event generated about $30 million in export consultations.
The event's growth tracks the rising global influence of K-beauty. Cosmetics original design manufacturing companies like Kolmar Korea — not just consumer-facing brands — are expanding their global operations on the back of Korean brands' growing overseas presence. Analysts say K-beauty's growth engine is extending beyond individual brands into upstream industries such as research and development and manufacturing.
Kolmar Korea organized its booth this year around the theme "Your Day, with Kolmar," presenting products and technologies it has developed and manufactured through a "24-hour beauty routine" spanning morning skincare, daytime sun care and evening cleansing.
In the skincare zone, visitors can experience "Dermafit Micro Hidle," a next-generation skin-delivery technology that uses hyaluronic acid to maximize the absorption of active ingredients while minimizing irritation. A range of products in various formulations will also be on display.
The sun care zone features a UV camera that lets visitors see the difference before and after applying sunscreen. Kolmar Korea will also present a proprietary sun care formulation developed specifically for the scalp.
In the cleansing zone, a skin-analysis camera allows visitors to check their skin condition before and after cleansing and compare the cleansing power, spreadability and feel of various formulations. A hands-on session where participants can make their own cooling mist will also be offered.
Kolmar Korea will also take part in the search for promising beauty startups, serving as a judge at a business meetup pitching competition on Tuesday, the final day of the event. The heads of the company's skincare and sun care research institutes will sit on the judging panel, and winning companies will receive opportunities to collaborate with leading beauty firms.
"K-beauty's competitiveness comes not only from outstanding brands but from the industry ecosystem built together by the research, development and manufacturing companies that support them, as well as retail and platform players," a Kolmar Korea official said. "We will continue to bring K-beauty into people's daily lives around the world through innovative technology and contribute to the ecosystem's sustained growth."
