Gwangju Champions City sets pre-sale price at W23.5m per pyeong

The pre-sale price for Gwangju Champions City — one of the most anticipated apartment projects in Gwangju in the second half of this year — has been set at 23.5 million won ($17,100) per pyeong.

Champions City Complex Development PFV, the project developer, said Wednesday that a model home for the first phase of apartments at "All New Champions City" will open Friday, kicking off the pre-sale schedule.

The apartment subscription schedule begins with special supply on Sept. 14, followed by first-priority subscriptions on Sept. 15 and second-priority on Sept. 16. Successful applicants will be announced Sept. 22.

Champions City is being developed on a 298,000-square-meter site at 100-1 Imdong, Buk-gu, Gwangju. The project will include 4,315 residential units along with commercial and office space, a luxury hotel and a history park.

Hyundai Department Store Group will build The Hyundai Gwangju, a mixed-use shopping complex, as part of the development, while the PFV entity will handle the mixed-use residential component, offering 3,216 units across two blocks in the first phase.

The mixed-use apartments range in exclusive use area from 84 to 214 square meters. Units of 84 square meters account for 79 percent of the total, or 2,534 households.

Average pre-sale prices are set at 23.3 million won per pyeong for the 84-square-meter type and 24 million won per pyeong for units exceeding 85 square meters, putting total unit prices in the range of 708 million won to 1.35 billion won, excluding penthouses.

Woomi Construction and Shinyoung C&D are handling construction, with move-in targeted for November 2030.
