Sogang University held the "Lee Sang-geun Real Estate Development Fund" ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the university president's reception room in the main building on its campus in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

The fund was established through voluntary contributions from master's and doctoral alumni who came together to support the program's growth and nurture the next generation of students.

A total of 17 alumni participated — 10 doctoral graduates and seven master's graduates. Doctoral alumni contributed 25 million won and master's alumni contributed 18.5 million won, bringing the total to 43.5 million won.

Representing the doctoral graduates at the ceremony were alumni Shin Yang-ho, Oh Hae-jong and Han Jin-hee, while Kim Nam-gil, Kim Byung-wan, Chae Su-in and Lee Hun-young attended on behalf of the master's graduates. University officials present included President Shim Jong-hyuk, Vice President for External Affairs Song Tae-kyung and Director of External Relations Lee Sang-geun.

Shin, who spoke on behalf of the donors, said the faculty's guidance over the past three years had made their achievements possible. "We hope this program becomes the top real estate graduate school in South Korea," he said.

President Shim said the real estate interdisciplinary program had grown rapidly since its launch, building a strong record of academic publications and doctoral graduates. "We hope that the sincerity you have shown will serve as a foundation for the real estate program to have an even more positive impact on our society," he said.
