20 million won donated Wednesday for maritime officer training and academic support
Korea Line and Korea Line LNG, both affiliates of SM Group, donated 20 million won ($14,600) to Korea Maritime and Ocean University on Wednesday. The donation ceremony, held at the university's main administration building, was attended by Korea Line and Korea Line LNG CEO Min Sang-gi and university President Ryu Dong-geun, among others.
The funds will be used to train skilled maritime officers and encourage academic achievement among students.
"Securing and systematically developing outstanding maritime talent is paramount to the sustained growth and competitiveness of the maritime industry," Min said. "We hope this contribution helps students focus more on their studies and practical skills, and grow into excellent maritime officers."
Ryu expressed gratitude for the donation. "We deeply appreciate this generous gesture and will do our utmost so that students can grow into maritime professionals equipped with the expertise and capabilities the industry demands," he said.
