Hyundai Steel's Suncheon factory donates to 'Anbu Ramyun' program

Donation aims to prevent food insecurity among vulnerable households and strengthen community care

Hyundai Steel's Suncheon factory has donated 2 million won ($1,460) to the "Anbu Ramyun" project, a community welfare initiative designed to check on vulnerable households and ensure no one goes without a meal.

The factory held a donation agreement ceremony Thursday at the Joryedong Suncheon Community Welfare Center, formalizing its support for the program — a public-private partnership run by the city of Suncheon.

The Anbu Ramyun project delivers ramyun to single-person households and other at-risk families to prevent skipped meals, while also fostering social ties and community engagement among local residents.

Han Seok-wook, head of the cold-rolling business support team at the Suncheon factory, said the company has been carrying out a range of community outreach activities as a business committed to growing alongside the local community — including banchan support for elderly people living alone, installation of H-type illuminated road signs, academic support for multicultural families, and donations to local welfare organizations. "Our company plans to continue actively participating in efforts to improve community welfare and spread a culture of sharing," he added.
