District Mayor Lee Seung-ro visited Seokgwan Elementary School's parking lot, a public health center, hospitals, pharmacies and Sungshin Women's University's Hanaro Street on Friday morning — with 88 clinics, an emergency care operations center and 85 pharmacies operating through the holiday
Seongbuk-gu in Seoul conducted a holiday inspection tour during the Chuseok break Friday, visiting frontline sites tied to residents' daily lives — including parking, public health and safety — and encouraging staff maintaining emergency operations throughout the holiday.
District Mayor Lee Seung-ro began his rounds Friday morning at the newly opened free parking lot at Seokgwan Elementary School, then proceeded to the Seongbuk-gu public health center, Seongbuk Woori Children's Hospital, Aimedical Pharmacy, Sungshin Women's University's Hanaro Street and the district office's integrated operations center.
At Seokgwan Elementary School, Lee inspected the 40-space parking lot opened for the first time this holiday season. To ease parking congestion for returning residents and visitors during the Chuseok break, the district has opened 1,372 spaces across 55 locations free of charge — including 30 schools, 14 public facilities and 11 private and religious venues.
Lee then visited the public health center's emergency care operations room, Seongbuk Woori Children's Hospital — a 24-hour pediatric facility — and Aimedical Pharmacy to check on the holiday medical response system. To minimize gaps in emergency care during the break, the district is running an emergency medical team at the health center alongside 88 clinics (15 open on Chuseok day itself) and 85 pharmacies (12 open on Chuseok day) designated to operate throughout the holiday.
Lee also patrolled Sungshin Women's University's Hanaro Street to assess cleanliness and safety conditions before visiting the district office's duty room and emergency standby posts to encourage staff working around the clock for residents' safety during the holiday.
"I am deeply grateful to the emergency workers, medical staff and community members who are holding the line for residents' safety and convenience even as everyone else enjoys a warm holiday," Lee said. "We will maintain a seamless emergency response across all areas — parking, medical care, sanitation and disaster management — through the final day of the holiday, so that every resident can spend Chuseok in comfort and peace of mind."
